Recording legend (and painter) Tony Bennett presented the Smithsonian with a portrait of Duke Ellington in commemoration of the jazz legend's 110th birthday on April 29.It was a high honor for Bennett, and his painting is a beautiful addition to the National Portrait Gallery.
However, the enlightened civic purpose of Bennett's presence did not stop wingnut media from attempting to turn it into a hit job on President Barack Obama. Really!
The video below captures a hapless Nicholas Ballasy from Leo Brent Bozell III's CNSnews ignoring Duke Ellington and, instead, prompting the 82 year old into a political assessment of Obama. The gracious Bennett is effusive in his praise for the young president. Bennett obviously not cooperating and offered nothing that could be twisted against Obama.
So, the CNS cons then attempt to tarnish Bennett with this hit job.
But let's get real...we're talking about Tony Bennett! People of all generations love the silver-haired crooner! And he loves President Obama!
Way to go, Bozell!
