Patrick Leahy Asks Vermonters for a 6th Term as U.S. Senator

One of the U.S. Senate's most effective leaders for progressive change is Vermont's Patrick Leahy. He's an early and steadfast opponent of the misguided War in Iraq; a stalwart defender of human rights abroad and civil rights at home; a leader in the fight for improved childhood nutrition; and a champion for sound environmental policies.

Leahy is also one of the strongest supporters of President Obama's economic recovery policies. And unlike so many of the weak-kneed and knee-jerked, the unflappable Leahy is pushing for the establishment of a Truth Commission on the treacherous lead up to the Iraq War.

The 69 year old is asking Vermonters for a sixth term as their senator. And why shouldn't he?
